ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT

PIT CREW OF THE AMERICAN WARFIGHTER

Mission

Anniston Army Depot is the designated Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence (CITE) for tracked and wheeled ground combat vehicles (minus Bradley), towed and self-propelled artillery, assault bridging systems, individual and crew served small caliber weapons and locomotives, rail equipment and non-tactical generators.

ANAD performs depot level maintenance on vehicle systems such as the M1 Abrams tank, M88 Recovery Vehicle, Stryker, M113 M9 Ace Combat Earthmover and the Assault Breacher Vehicle. Major components of each vehicle are also overhauled and returned to stock.

ANAD personnel are deployed around the world in direct support of our nation’s war fighters providing fielding services and repairs in the field. Combat and battle damage repairs are being accomplished both at home and abroad.

Under partnership agreements, a wide range of vehicle conversions, upgrades and new vehicle manufacturing are currently underway. Additionally, worldwide distribution of stocks and the maintenance and storage of conventional ammunition and missiles are significant parts of the depot’s overall missions and capabilities. The Department of Defense’s only missile recycling center is located at Anniston.

Key tenant organizations on the depot include Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services, Anniston, Alabama, the Anniston Munitions Center (ANMC) and the Museum Support Center-Anniston.
