Although Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) is a multi-mission installation, it is most frequently recognized for ground combat vehicle and small arms weapon expertise and Production Operations fulfills all aspects of that hearty mission! Located in the Nichols Industrial Complex, PO comprises more than 1.5M sq. ft. of overhaul capability. The flexibility of our workforce, equipment, and state of the art facilities has given Anniston Army Depot the competitive edge in the defense industry. The organization employs more than 2000 employees, and comprises three directorates: Production Management (DPM), Production (DP), and Production Engineering (DPE). Our skilled workforce consists of production management specialists, planners, programmers, parts management specialists, program managers, engineers and engineering technicians, technical writer/editors and illustrators, welders, pneudraulic workers, heavy mobile equipment mechanics, fabric workers, machine tools operators, tool & die makers, artillery repairers, automotive mechanics, electro-optic repairers, electronic component equipment repairers, electronic mechanics, electronic integrated system mechanics, electroplating workers, and metal forming machine operators. The General Manager for Production Operations coordinates all facets regarding the execution of assigned missions for DPM, DP, and DPE. |

Missions: |

| • | To manage ANAD production operations. | ||
| • | To develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure quality control. | ||
| • | To provide administrative support and assistance to managers in the Production Operations organizations. | ||
| • | To provide process control of the four major processes within the production operation. | ||
Functions: |
|||
| • | Manages the depot passport and visa programs, assists travelers obtaining passports, visas, area clearances and current immunization records on all OCONUS travel. | ||
| • | Issues passports for permanent changes of station (PCS). | ||
| • | Provides advice, assistance and coordination to Production Operations managers on issues such as realignments, reorganizations, personnel requests, security issues, skills analysis, training, certifications, etc. | ||
| • | Initiates and coordinates travel orders and arrangements for Production Operations employees scheduled for TDY and off-depot training. | ||
| • | Establishes and maintains the Certification Database. | ||
| • | Coordinates TRAIN requirements for Production Operations personnel. | ||
| • | Conducts in depth studies in the Production Operations organizations. | ||
| • | Provides ownership of major processes within the production operations. | ||
| • | Conducts and/or participates in studies as directed by various headquarters in support of CONUS/OCONUS activities as well as foreign governments. | ||
| • | Conducts studies on shop operations to ascertain causes of deviations from specifications and develops process improvements to eliminate such deviations. | ||
| • | Conducts studies to increase productivity, improve shop layout, shorten response time, reduce cost and improve quality. | ||
| • | Serves as manager for all administrative functions for the Production Operations organizations. | ||
